  The Maya region in southern Mexico and Guatemala offers a magnificent area of the world to explore & adventure. This region has an exuberant natural beauty in which you can discover the culture and archeology of one of the ancestral  civilization of America.  The Archeological sites to explore are represented by Chichen Itza, Valladolid, Tulum, Bacalar, Becan, Xpuhil, Calakmul, Palenque, Agua Azul, Bonampak, Yaxchilan, Tikal (Guatemala), San Cristobal de Las Casas, Puerto Arista, Mitla, Monte Alban y Oaxaca.  Several adventures will be available:  Kayaking and snorkeling in Puerto Morelos and Sian Kan Reserve. Exploring the white sands and blue-green waters of Cancun city.  Bicycle touring to the “Cenotes” and archeological site of Tulum. Visit  the scenic Agua Azul Waterfalls. Travel by raft on the Candelaria River.  Jungle trip in Lacandona, visiting the Indian Reserve.   Boat trip to archeological site of Yaxchilan and Sumidero Canyon.  Wooden raft tour on lake Montebello.  Horseback riding trip to the Indian Community of San Juan Chamula.  Visit the Ceremonial center of Mitla, and the magnificient Tule tree.  Tour the historic city of Oaxaca and visit the Museum and Temple of Santo Domingo.  Visit the Ceremonial center of Zapoteca de Monte Alban.  Different camp sites will be set in different regions such as in the biosphere reserve of Calakmul, Río Usumacinta and Totolapan at Sierra Oaxaqueña (Oaxaca).

 

Itinerary
 
Day 01: Cancun Airport reception. Transfer to Hotel “Ojo de Agua” in Puerto Morelos.

Day 02: Exploration walk by a crocodile breeding site and bird trail, Kayaking and snorkeling. Return to Puerto Morelos by night time.

Day 03: Transport to archeological site, Chichen Itza. Exploration tour at Cenote Dzinup. Swim time. Transfer to Hotel María de la Luz in Valladolid.

Day 04: Trip to Holbox Island to appreciate the faunna. Return to Hotel.

Day 05: Visit to archeological Coba. Bicycle tour to the “Cenotes” and archeological site of Tulum. Transfer to Hotel in Tulum.

Day 06: Kayaking activities in Sian Kan Reserve. 

Day 07 Transfer to Hotel Laguna in Bacalar. Visit to archeological Kohunlich. Afternoon at the lagoon.

Day 08: Tour archeological zones of Chicana, Xpuhil and Becan. Accomodation in Hotel Chicana, Eco-village.

Day 09: Transfer to Biosphere Reserve of Calakmul, and its archelogical sites. Set Camp.

Day 10: Río Candelaria raft tour. Transfer to Eco-lodge in Misolha.

Day 11: Visit to archeological Palenque and Agua Azul Waterfalls  Return to Misolha.

Day 12: Jungle trip in Lacandona, visiting archeological site of Bonampak, and Lacandones Indian Reserve of Bonampak. Continnue to Río Usumacinta for camping.

Day 13: Boat trip to archeological site of Yaxchilan. Transfer to Hotel Santana in Isla de Flores (Flowers’ Island).

Day 14: All day visit to the ruins of Tikal.

Day 15: Trip to Mexican border through the Lacandona Jungle. Crossing to the Montes Azules Reserve.Accommodation in Ecological Station of Ixcan.

Day 16: Wooden raft tour of Montebello lakes. Visit to the archeological site of Chinkultik. Transfer to Hotel Molino de la Alborada in San Cristobal.

Day 17: Horseback riding trip to Indian Community of San Juan Chamula.

Day 18: Transfer to Tuxtla Gutiérrez. Boat trip by Sumidero Canyon. Transport through Sierra Oaxaqueña to the next Ecological Camp in Totolapan Oaxaca.

Day 19: Visit to ceremonial center of Mitla, and the magnificient Tule tree. Transfer to a Hotel in Oaxaca. Afternoon tour of the historic city, Temple and Museum of Santo Domingo.

Day 20: In the morning, a visit to ceremonial center of Zapoteca de Monte Alban.  Departure to Oaxaca airport.  Reception in Cancun airport. Transfer to Hotel America midway between the city and the tourist boulevard.

Day 21: Day off at Cancun for sight-seeing or relaxing on the beach.

Day 22: Transfer and departure from Cancun airport.
