ITINERARY
DAY 01: Arrival in San Juan and transfer to the Exuberant El Verde lodge. DAY 02-03: Explore the historical Old San Juan, a city more than 500 years old. Walk over cobblestone streets, visit archeological and cultural museums. Visit El Morro and San Cristobal fortress (historical Spanish monuments), where you can appreciate in small replica the historic battles between the Spanish, British, French and others. By boat cross San Juan Bay to Cataño City. Visit the Pigeon Park and the Christ Chapel. Visit Las Americas Mall, the Largest Mall in the Caribbean. DAY 04: Near metropolitan San Juan you will enjoy the beach, walk or bicycle in Piñones tabloid area. Enjoy the typical Puerto Rican food like bacalaito, pionono, alcapurrea and coconut water. DAY 05: From San Juan you will travel to the East. Backpack hike to El Yunke or Caribbean National Park. Enjoy the cloud forest and the exuberant vegetation of the Park. From the top of the mountain, view a large portion of the Puerto Rican East coast. DAY 06 - 09: Early in the morning enjoy the famous beach of Luquillo, swimming, horseback riding and kayaking available. Explore Cabezas de San Juan, Fajardo Lighthouse and El Conquistador. During one of these nights you will be kayaking in the bioluminescent Bay of Fajardo. DAY 10 - 11: Travel by boat to the neighboring and beautiful Culebra Island. This Island has one of the more enchanting beaches in the USA. Walk the Flamingo beach. Explore the Island and with a little luck it is possible to observe the egg lying of marine turtles during the night. DAY 12: From Culebras Island return by boat to Puerto Rico and travel to Ponce. DAY 13: Ponce City/Tibes Taino Ceremonial Park. Tour the city of Ponce, the second most important city on the Island. Visit the Town square and learn about the history and culture of Ponce (Serrallés Castle, the Ponce Art Museum and Catholic University). Then, stop at the Tibes, Tainos Indian Ceremonial Park. DAY 14: During the morning, explore the dry forest of Guánica, rich in cactus and birds. Then, visit the 19th Century coffee plantation, Hacienda Buena Vista, and find out how coffee was processed in the 1800’s. DAY 15: In Guánica travel by boat to Guiligan Island. Walk, swimming and enjoy snorkeling. A fantastic place to enjoy. DAY 16 - 17: From Guánica travel to Cabo Rojo, La Parguera bioluminescent Bay, El Combate Beach. Travel to the keys of the region. Walk, swimming, horseback riding or kayaking. Explore the West coast of Puerto Rico full of exotic and warm beaches. DAY 18 - 20: Travel to the North coast full of exiting sports. Stay in Guajataca with one of the more spectacular views in the Island. In this area you will explore Camuy Caves, Cathedral Caves, hiking and rappelling the mogotes of the area. Visit the largest Radio Radar Telescope in the world. DAY 21: Travel to San Juan for the homeward flight.
